St. Francis de Sales School will begin celebrating the accomplishments of our school family, past and present, with our first annual Alumni Achievement Awards Banquet in Spring 2016. If you feel you know someone deserving of these awards please honor them with a nomination. All of the award recipients will be shining examples that the lessons learned at St. Francis de Sales did not end after graduation, but continue to be used throughout life.

Bernard Schevers who served the St. Francis de Sales Parish from 1908 to 1950 upon his death. He was the only Norbertine from St. Norbert's Priory in DePere, Wisconsin to serve as pastor. Father Schevers led the parish in building a school and later a convent. The church was enlarged twice during his pastorate to accommodate the growing Catholic population of Manistique. Despite the Great Depression that was settling upon the nation, in 1931 Father Schevers oversaw the parish paying off all its debt. |
